Frank Roosevelt Was Right!

You remember the famous line: “The only thing we have to fear is (dramatic pause) fear itself.”

Turns out President Roosevelt was right! We all know it! And the people tapping into our psyches for profit and political gain know it as well. People selling stuff (ideologies, viagra, etc) have become really good at convincing us that we need protection from things that we didn’t know were threats.

So in a world of:

“President Obama wants to create socialized medicine and turn us into France!”

and

“Continued use of Altomontra (made it up) may cause bleeding from every orifice in your body!”

and

“The DFD (again, made it up) security monitoring system will protect your family when really bad people break into your home wanting to hurt your wife and children!” (video of the terrible person breaking into your home and scaring your family is included at no extra charge)

We can understand momentary lapses into fear-land. But the problem is not the momentary lapse. The problem occurs when the momentary lapse becomes a lifestyle!

I’ve heard it said that faith and fear have one thing in common: They both ask us to believe in things unseen. Given this, why not choose faith? Faith is essential for living our Best Lives.

Carpe Diem!
